PPE and hard-hat compliance monitoring

ElectricEye checks your existing camera feeds for missing hard hats, safety vests and other required PPE, and sends the clip to the supervisor on that floor. Compliance stops depending on who happened to walk by.

Security camera view of a warehouse cross aisle: a forklift carrying a pallet turns out of a racking aisle while one worker in a hard hat stands in the painted walkway and another, without a hard hat, walks across the forklift lane.

What ElectricEye checks

You choose which PPE is required in which zones. ElectricEye flags the gaps.

Hard hats

Missing head protection in zones where it is required, such as racking aisles, docks and work areas under overhead loads.

High-visibility vests

People without hi-vis in forklift traffic areas, yards and loading zones.

Goggles, gloves and boots

Eye protection, gloves and steel-toed boots where camera angle and resolution allow a reliable call.

Zone-specific rules

Different PPE requirements for different areas, so a vest-only zone does not raise hard-hat alerts.

Evidence for every violation

Each event is documented with a clip and timestamp for coaching and compliance records.

What cameras can and can't see

Hard hats and hi-vis vests are large, high-contrast items and are reliably visible on typical ceiling cameras. Glasses, gloves and footwear are small, so reliable detection depends on how close and how sharp the camera view is. During a pilot we check each camera and tell you which checks it can support.

How it works

Live on your cameras in hours

  1. 01

    Connect existing cameras

ElectricEye works with IP cameras you already have, over RTSP or through VMS platforms like Eagle Eye Networks.

  2. 02

    Set PPE rules by zone

Define which equipment is required on each camera or area, and who should be notified.

  3. 03

    Alert, coach, document

Supervisors get the clip in real time. The event log becomes your compliance record.

Questions

Common questions

Can AI detect missing hard hats and safety vests on CCTV?
Yes. ElectricEye detects missing hard hats and high-visibility vests on existing CCTV feeds and sends supervisors a clip of each violation. Smaller items such as glasses, gloves and boots depend on the camera's distance and resolution.
Does PPE monitoring identify individual workers?
ElectricEye detects whether required equipment is being worn; it does not need to identify who someone is to raise a PPE alert. Each alert includes the clip so the supervisor on site can follow up.
What does an OSHA PPE violation cost?
As of 2026, OSHA's maximum penalty is $16,550 per serious violation and $165,514 per willful or repeated violation. OSHA did not apply an inflation increase in 2026, so the 2025 amounts still stand.
